existing need in our community is for youth to gain a means to support
themselves without leaving their communities.
This is why ACSET Uganda seeks to establish a vocational training
institute so youth can gain employment and uplift themselves and their
communities. To start in 2019 with 200 students in carpentry, tailoring and
welding, the institute will offer six-month courses on hands-on practical
skills that prepare young people to earn a living. This new focus was inspired
by the feedback from youth themselves who see vocational skills development as
something to change their lives for the better.
