Dropped out girls are not allowed or supported by family to learn any vocational courses such as in tailoring, welding and fabrication, concrete practice, or hair dressing and beauty course. 2. Average Learning Achievement of the trainees is not standardized. 3. Trainees are ignorant of basic hands-on skills. 4. Teachers & students are poor in information technology. 5. Women and adolescent girls are not working as a daily labour in nearby skilled oriented work area. 6. Vocational schools lack the tools, equipment’s and accessories to provide the recommended skills trainings. Our focus is in this proposal is to provide had-on skills training in hair dressing and beauty and tailoring and design to benefit the disadvantaged idle youth tin the sub counties of interest
The number of direct beneficiaries of this project would be 100 youth in six months from project arae and from other sub counties of Gulu district. The selection criteria will consider gender, disabilities and will be non-political. The annual number of indirect beneficiaries would be 400 youth in two years along with more than 80% jobs to be created through these trained beneficiaries.
