The Mawujjo Village is very poor, children are often hungry, and parents are usually unable to afford medicine or sustain proper housing. Fr. Alex You Memorial School is working to improve the lives of vulnerable children in the Mubende district by providing nursery and primary school education to up to 505 children, and Vocational Secondary School education to 253 students. The current nursery and primary school classrooms are overcrowded due to our increasing number of rural children that seek quality education.
Therefore we need to create more space buy constructing a new classroom block for the nursery section. The proposed classroom block will have three classes for baby, middle and top class. We expect to be education over 100 kindergaten children per year, currently we have 95 pupils unders the early childhood program.
In 2015, at a UN Summit, the global community agreed to a goal of a quality education for every child by 2030 regardless of where they live or where they attend school.
Since 2011, the Fr. Alex You Memorial School has sponsored over 200 students - nearly half are female - with 100 percent of all students passing all national exams. While we operate within a low-income community, sponsors and donors like you keep the school in operation each year. Donors like you provide the food, shelter and medicine our children need to grow, learn and transform into the leaders of tomorrow that they are destined to become. The School transforms the lives of hundreds as well empowering poor rural families in Central Uganda.
